Major League: The Major League is the highest and most competitive level of baseball in Northwest Little League. Minimum playing requirements for the regular season include 2 innings of defense and 1 at-bat, subject to a complete game being played. All 12-year-olds that try out are assured a Major League spot, unless upon unanimous (with parent’s initiating) vote by all involved, including President and District Administrator, the child is deemed a safety concern, and allowed to play in the Minor League. Players who are drafted into Majors will stay on that Majors team until they are finished with their 12 year old season, and will not have to tryout again. The league primarily consists of 10-12 year olds.
Minor League: The Minor League is a player pitch league, much like the Major League, providing a bit more emphasis on player development and participation. All 9-year-olds, and all 10- and 11-year-olds not drafted to a Major League team will be drafted to a Minor League team in their division, guaranteed. Only kids aged 11 and under are allowed to pitch at this level. There is a continuous batting order and more minimum playing time in the field. Minor teams are redrafted each year and will need to tryout every year until selected by a Majors team. The league primarily consists of 8-10 year olds with some 11 year olds.
Machine Pitch: The Machine Pitch League uses both a machine and pitchers. Each kid will have an opportunity to hit once off the pitching machine. Once every kid has hit off the machine, the opposing team will have a player pitch. This assures that each kid will get an at bat against the machine that consistently throws strikes, while also assuring that we develop kids at a younger age to pitch the ball. This league is instructional and developmental in nature, but does allow for scorekeeping and a competitive environment. This league primarily consists of 6-8 year old.
Coach Pitch/TBall: This is for our youngest and newest players. Games are 3 innings or 1 hour, whichever comes first. Each kid will bat every inning. No outs or runs are recorded. All defensive players will be in the field. Each batter will be thrown a max of 5 pitches by a coach before the batting tee is brought out for the player to hit off of. This league primarily consists of 4-5 year olds
